Zoe’s Kitchen: The Friendliest Franchise in Newtown, PA

When you have allergies to Gluten and Dairy such as I do, it’s a challenge to find a place to eat, especially when it’s a national chain.  A lot of chains may not have dedicated menus for people with food allergies or even offer items that are Gluten and/or Dairy free.  Other chains may have one dedicated menu which designates what a person can have in regards to each food allergen, which can unfortunately severely limit my options.  Zoe’s Kitchen, fortunately, has options that accommodate both my Gluten and Dairy Allergies.

The Zoe’s Kitchen that my fiancé, John, and I like to frequent is located at 280 N. Sycamore Street in Newtown, PA, which has been in business since May 2013.  John and I pretty much get the same thing each time, grilled Salmon Kabobs paired with a zesty Moroccan Harissa sauce and Sweet Tea.  I usually get my Salmon Kabobs with a side of roasted vegetables and braised white beans while John gets his with a side of roasted vegetables and potato salad.  The food is also filling, but not overwhelmingly so.

The restaurant itself is kept clean has good lighting.  It has the perfect ambiance for a quiet meal for either lunch or dinner, especially if you don’t feel like being anywhere that is too crowded or noisy.  The menu is clearly marked with symbols next to the item to designate it as Gluten Free, Vegan, or Vegetarian.  Unlike a few other places that John and I have been to, when I place an order, the staff at Zoe’s understands about my allergies and doesn’t ask unnecessary questions.   There instances at other restaurants where I’ve had the person taking my order make comments asking me for example, “Can you even eat that?” regarding mayonnaise or anything containing eggs, which to the best of my knowledge isn’t dairy.  Fortunately, that has never been the case when I pop in to Zoe’s Kitchen to have a meal.  In fact, they couldn’t be more amazing or friendly towards us and we feel welcome each time that we go.

Zoe’s Kitchen has become a favorite of mine and John’s and our go to place if we feel like a light meal.  If you’re ever in Newtown, PA and feel like a quick bite, stop into Zoe’s Kitchen.  They’ll be happy to see you!
